Playing 7 Card Stud

As one of the variations of poker, seven card stud players are already ahead of the game if they are aware of the hand rankings that come with the game.

What are the rules of seven card stud? How do you play? Well, there are seven cards that are dealt to players throughout the game. The first two cards that are dealt to the player are dealt face down, so the player that has received the cards is the only player that knows the value of the cards. Next, the player is dealt one card, which is facing up – that the table can see. At this time, the first bets are made by the players that choose to ‘call’ or ‘bring in’. Two more cards that are face up are dealt to each player, with a round of betting through each card that is dealt. Finally, two cards faces down are dealt to each player – and the final bets are made.

The player that is able to make the best five card poker hand wins the game. There is a catch however; the cards at those which are on the table and upwards must be included in the hand. For this reason, players can have an upper hand while betting, using the values of the other players cards at the table. Using one of the cards that are placed down, you create the best hand possible.

There are often many players in the game and many rounds of betting. Although no-limit seven card stud can be found, the most popular games of seven card stud are played with a limit.
